How to Acquire Authentic Titles of Nobility
which are Recognised by the Protocols of Chivalry

The Titles of Nobility and Chivalry available herewith are absolutely authentic. A full explanation of why and how this is so is provided on this and the following Pages.

  1. The romance of Chivalry and the respect that comes from possessing an authentic Title of Nobility is available to Aspirants with good character and idealistic hearts.

  2. You can become a Knight or a Dame, with the right to use the Title of "Sir" or "Lady" on your personal stationery, business cards, etc. You may also Petition for a higher Noble Rank, such as Count / Countess, Marquis / Marchioness or Duke / Duchess - with the corresponding right to use the loftier Title.

  3. A large and sumptuous Scroll of calligraphic Letters Patent, showing your name and locale, personally signed and Sealed by The Prince, St. Michel de Clermont and suitable for framing and display, will be furnished to you upon successful Application. Several famous actors and European Nobles of Ancient Lineage already hold these Titles (see the Testimonials).

  4. Tastefully designed Estate quality medals, sashes and other Condecorations for wear on formal occasions are also available to Members. These will be life long treasures and both Letters Patent and Condecorations may be left as a bequest in your Will. Only Titles of higher Noble Rank - Count / Countess, Marquis / Marchioness and Duke / Duchess may be inherited; the Title of Knight or Dame ends with the death of the holder.

  5. His Excellency, The Prince DOUGLAS, St. Michel de Clermont, is recognised according to venerable Norman, medieval law as a fons honorum - a font of honour - by the established Protocols of Chivalry, which gives him the Undoubted Right to bestow Titles. His Excellency, The Prince, is a Prince Palatine of the Latin Empire of Constantinople and a Baron of the Empire. He is also the Prince Grand Master of the Knightly Orders of St. Victor, St. Andrew of Jerusalem and of the Commonwealth. The Principality was established by the ancient Christian Holy See of Antioch.

  6. As stated above, Titles of higher Ranks of Nobility also available are those of; Duke or Duchess, Marquis or Marchioness and Count or Countess. These Titles of Nobility are offered by the Principality of St. Michael de Clermont, a dependent fief of the Latin Empire of Constantinople, founded in the year 1204 A.D. Persons wishing to obtain Titles of higher Ranks of Nobility will become Nobles of the Principality. One's spouse is also ennobled and the Title is equally inherited by all children.

  7. In detail, the Orders of Chivalry sponsored by the Principality include the Prince's own Private House Order of St. Victor (automatically conferred with the acquisition of Titles of Nobility in the Principality), the separate Order of St. Andrew of Jerusalem, initially founded in the Crusader Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1232 A.D. and the Order of the Commonwealth, based on the Declaration of Commonwealth Principles of the Commonwealth of Nations.

  8. While the Titles of Nobility of Clermont are still valid and continue to be passed down, the fiefdom itself does not now exist as a sovereign territory. Both Clermont and the Latin Empire of which it was once a part, were founded in conjunction with the Fourth Crusade in the early part of the thirteenth century. What was once the domain of the Barons of Clermont is now incorporated into the present day republic of Greece.

  9. The Castle of Tornese, the ancient seat of the Nobility of Clermont, can still be found, however. A gallery of pictures of the castle as it appears today is located elsewhere on this Site. The Castle is located in the Morea, about 6 km from Killini, on the coast of the Peloponnese.

  10. The Investiture Fees requested in connection with the conferral of Honours do not constitute a purchase of Honours, but are used to defray the costs of the Instruments of Investiture, such as the issuing of Letters Patent, the imposition of the Prince's Seal and the registration of the Title within the Principality. There are no annual dues or other contributions required. Honours are granted on the assurance of your good character and dedication to the ideals of Chivalry.

  11. You may wish to address a brief letter to The Prince, assuring him of your good character and telling him a little about yourself and why you are applying for Honours - your humanitarian or charitable activities, interest in history, your wish to promote respect for Chivalry, etc. If you are nominating someone else for Honours, please explain why you believe they are worthy - place their name and other data on the appropriate Petition form printed from this Site and send it, along with the requisite Investiture Fee, to the address provided. Do try not to exceed two pages in your letter, as His Excellency, The Prince, receives a great deal of correspondence.

  12. The Fees for various Titles along with background information and actual Application forms are contained on the following Pages, along with the address for submission. It is permissible to print the Application forms from this Site or, if preferred, pre-printed forms may be sent to you through the mail. Photocopies of the forms will be accepted, provided they are completely filled out and contain an original signature.

  13. Titles of Nobility offered by the Principality of St. Michel de Clermont are available via Internet through our Agents, Nobilitat Regalia-CB and are offered privately to Aspirants with the express understanding that the said Titles are not associated with any specific religious organisation or national government or government grouping.
